Pathways English Tutor: - Rules and Regulations
1. Preamble
These Rules and Regulations (hereinafter referred
to as "Regulations") govern the engagement of students with Pathways
English Tutor services in Mumbai.
By enrolling in and utilizing Pathways English
Tutor services, students agree to abide by these Rules & Regulations, which
are designed to ensure a productive, respectful, and effective learning
environment for all participating students.
These regulations are established in accordance
with best practices in educational service provision and aim to clarify
expectations, responsibilities, and procedures for both students and Pathways
English Tutors.
2.
Eligibility and Enrolment
2.1.
Eligibility Criteria
Students seeking to engage Pathways English Tutor
services must meet the following criteria:
a) Age: Students
must be at least 18 years of age. For students under 18 years of age, parental
or guardian consent is mandatory for enrollment and continued participation.
b) Academic Need: Students should demonstrate a genuine need
for Spoken English language tutoring, whether for academic improvement, test
preparation, or general language proficiency enhancement.
c) Commitment: Students are expected to exhibit a commitment to
learning and active participation in tutoring sessions.
2.2. Enrolment
Process
a) Application: Prospective students or their guardians must
complete the official enrollment application form provided by Pathways English
Tutor. This form will require personal details, academic background, and
specific learning objectives.
b) Assessment: Pathways English Tutor may conduct an initial assessment
to gauge the student's current English proficiency level and identify areas
requiring focus. This assessment helps in tailoring the tutoring program
effectively.
c) Program Selection: Based on the assessment and student's
objectives, a suitable tutoring program will be recommended.
d) Fee Payment: Enrollment is confirmed upon the successful
payment of the prescribed fees as outlined in the Fee Structure section.
3. Tutoring
Sessions
3.1.
Scheduling
a) Fixed Schedule: Tutoring sessions will be scheduled at
mutually agreed-upon times and days. Students are expected to adhere to this
schedule.
b) Punctuality: Students must arrive punctually for their
scheduled sessions. Lateness will result in a reduction of the session
duration, as the tutor's schedule is fixed.
c) Session Duration: Each tutoring session will be of a
predetermined duration, typically 60 or 90 minutes, as agreed upon during enrollment.
3.2.
Preparation and Participation
a) Materials: Students are responsible for bringing all necessary
materials to each session, including textbooks, notebooks, pens, and any
assigned homework or readings.
b) Active Participation: Students are expected to actively
participate in discussions, ask questions, and complete assigned tasks during
the session.
c) Homework: Tutors may assign homework or practice exercises.
Students are expected to complete these assignments diligently before the next
session to maximize learning outcomes.
3.3. Conduct
During Sessions
a) Respectful Behavior: Students must maintain a respectful and
courteous demeanor towards their tutors and any other staff members and other
fellow students, if any. Disruptive or
disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
b) Focus: Students are expected to remain focused on the learning
objectives during the session. Use of mobile phones or other electronic devices
for non-academic purposes is strictly prohibited.
c) Academic Integrity: All work submitted by students must be their
own. Plagiarism or any form of academic dishonesty will result in disciplinary
action.
4. Attendance
and Cancellations
4.1. Student
Absences
a) Notification: In case of unavoidable absence, students or
their guardians must notify Pathways English Tutor at least 24 hours in
advance.
b) Make-up Sessions: Make-up sessions for notified absences may
be arranged at the discretion of the Pathways English Tutor, subject to tutor
availability. A maximum of one make-up session per month may be permitted.
c) Unnotified Absences: Unnotified absences will be considered
forfeited sessions, and no make-up or refund will be provided.
4.2. Tutor
Absences
a) Notification: In the rare event of a tutor's absence,
Pathways English Tutor will endeavor to provide at least 24 hours' notice to
the student or guardian.
b) Rescheduling/Substitute: Pathways English Tutor will either
reschedule the session at a mutually convenient time or provide a qualified
substitute tutor for the session.
4.3.
Cancellation Policy
a) Student Cancellation: If a student wishes to cancel their enrollment,
a written request must be submitted. Refunds will be processed according to the
refund policy outlined in Section 5.3.
b) Pathways English Tutor Cancellation: Pathways English
Tutor reserves the right to cancel a student's enrollment due to repeated
violations of these regulations, non-payment of fees, or other justifiable
reasons.
5. Fees and
Payments
5.1. Fee
Structure
a) Published Fees: The fees for Pathways English Tutor services
will be clearly communicated to students or guardians at the time of enrollment. These fees are subject to change with prior notice.
b) Payment Schedule: Fees are typically payable in advance,
either per session, monthly, or as per program package, as agreed upon in advance.
c) Late Payments: A late fee may be applied to payments not
received by the due date. Continued non-payment may lead to suspension or
termination of services.
5.2. Payment
Methods
a) Accepted Methods: Pathways English Tutor accepts various
payment methods, which will be specified during the enrollment process. These
may include bank transfers, online payment gateways, or cash payments at the
office.
b) Receipts: Receipts will be provided for all payments made.
5.3. Refund
Policy
a) Initial Enrollment: A full refund may be provided if a student
cancels their enrollment within 7 days of the initial payment and before the
commencement of any tutoring sessions.
b) Partial Refunds: After the commencement of sessions, partial
refunds may be considered on a pro rata basis for unused sessions, subject to
an administrative fee. The specific terms of partial refunds will be outlined
in the enrollment agreement.
c) No Refunds: No refunds will be issued for forfeited sessions due to
unnotified absences or for sessions already conducted.
6. Code of
Conduct
6.1. Respect
and Professionalism
a) Mutual Respect: Students and tutors are expected to treat
each other with mutual respect, courtesy, and professionalism at all times.
b) Non-Discrimination: Pathways English Tutor is committed to
providing an inclusive environment. Discrimination based on race, religion,
gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
is strictly prohibited.
6.2.
Confidentiality
a) Student Information: Pathways English Tutor will maintain the
confidentiality of student personal information and academic progress, in
accordance with applicable privacy laws.
b) Tutor Information: Students are expected to respect the privacy
of their tutors and not share personal information about them without explicit
consent.
6.3. Safety
and Security
a) Online Sessions: For online tutoring sessions, students are
responsible for ensuring a secure and private learning environment free from
distractions.
b) Reporting Concerns: Any concerns regarding safety, security, or
inappropriate conduct should be immediately reported to Pathways English Tutor
management.
7. Academic
Progress and Feedback
7.1. Progress
Monitoring
a) Regular Assessments: Tutors will regularly assess student
progress through informal evaluations, quizzes, and observation during
sessions.
b) Progress Reports: Periodic progress reports may be provided to
students or guardians, outlining achievements, areas for improvement, and
recommendations.
7.2. Feedback
Mechanism
a Student Feedback: Students and guardians are encouraged to
provide feedback on the tutoring services, tutors, and overall experience. This
feedback is valuable for continuous improvement.
b. Complaint Resolution: Any complaints or grievances should be
submitted in writing to Pathways English Tutor management. All complaints will
be addressed promptly and fairly.
8.
Termination of Services
8.1. Grounds
for Termination by Pathways English Tutor
Pathways English Tutor reserves the right to
terminate services for a student under the following circumstances:
a)
Repeated
violations of these Regulations.
b)
Non-payment
of fees.
c)
Disruptive,
disrespectful, or inappropriate behavior.
d)
Academic
dishonesty.
e Any
conduct deemed detrimental to the learning environment or the reputation of
Pathways English Tutor.
8.2.
Termination by Student
Students or guardians may terminate services by
providing written notice to Pathways English Tutor. Refunds, if applicable,
will be processed according to the refund policy.
9. Disclaimer
and Limitation of Liability
Pathways English Tutor strives to provide
high-quality tutoring services. However, Pathways English Tutor does not
guarantee specific academic outcomes or results. The effectiveness of tutoring
depends significantly on the student's commitment, effort, and individual
learning style. Pathways English Tutor shall not be liable for any indirect,
incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection
with the tutoring services.
10.
Amendments to Regulations
Pathways English Tutor reserves the right to amend
or update these Regulations at any time. Any changes will be communicated to
students and guardians in advance. Continued engagement with Pathways English
Tutor services after such notification will constitute acceptance of the
revised Regulations.
